The Plan The Promise

The Family and Community Engagement Plan and all other  Title I information are available on our school’s website at https://peachtreees.gcpsk12.org/ under the Title I Section. Families can also find paper copies of this Family and Community Engagement Plan in our Family Engagement Center and on our school website.

It is reviewed and revised at least annually during the Planning Meeting in the spring. All feedback forms from the Planning Meeting are submitted to the Office of Federal Programs for review.  Families who cannot attend the Planning Meeting can review draft documents and provide input during the draft document review period.

Peachtree Elementary uses Parent Square and our agenda planners to communicate with parents. 

If you need to schedule a meeting with your child’s teacher, please communicate this using Parent Square, email, or through your child’s agenda planner. Teachers are available before or after school to meet with you by appointment only. Please communicate these needs with your child’s teacher.

The Blueprint for the Future is the strategic plan for Gwinnett County Public Schools. This plan is organized into four strategic priorities, each with three specific goals. To ensure success, these goals have clear objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track and measure progress. Each year schools review their data to identify areas for growth and set long-term goals to improve them. This information is used to create a Local School Plan for Improvement (LSPI) aligned to the district's priorities. School staff, families, and community members participate in providing input for the LSPI. Families can easily access the latest strategic plan on the Gwinnett County Public Schools website.

We will provide all students with high quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment to meet high academic standards. 

• Kindergarten:  Retelling stories, identifying characters/setting
• 1^st Grade:  Reading for fluency
• 2^nd and 3^rd Grades:  Reading for fluency and comprehension
• 4^th Grade:  Read with purpose and expression

• 5^th Grade:  Summarize and paraphrase effectively

It is a written agreement that outlines how the school, the students, and the family will work together to ensure your child’s academic success. An effective School-Family Promise contains the following elements:

• Clear learning goals that are linked to the school’s improvement plan
• Specific skills students will learn during the year 
• Strategies that staff, families, and students will use to improve student learning
• Ways to extend learning at home
• Methods teachers and family members will use to communicate about student progress
• Opportunities for family members to observe and participate in the classroom
• Jointly developed by families, school staff, students, community business partners, and other stakeholders during our Planning Meeting
• Reviewed and revised throughout the year through parent-teacher conferences and through building parent capacity meetings.

Peachtree Elementary  will... 

• Communicate language comprehension and word recognition development to parents.
• Offer parents information and training to support skilled readers.
• Provide workshops and training with parents to provide strategies and information needed for families to support their skilled readers.

As Students, we will...   

• Complete at home reading logs.

• Share with our parents our progress towards our reading goals.
• Communicate to our parents and our teachers when we need additional support and ask our teachers to explain what we do not understand.

As Families, we will... 

•  Implement the Peachtree Elementary home reading policy.

• Communicate to understand our children’s progress in developing language comprehension and word recognition skills.
• Review communication and reach out to staff to gain a greater understanding of our children’s reading progress.
